Loan gowns in the gown room
TU Delft has purchased loan gowns available in the gown room. Availability and a suitable size must be confirmed before the ceremony.
Beadle’s dress
The beadle has a separate outfit comprising a gown, sash, headwear, staff and black shoes.
No public pattern sheet
The regulations examined do not publish the complete cut, material choices, measurements or borrowing procedure.

A reliable academic gown commission starts with the university, role and ceremony, followed by material, pattern and measurements.
Assess the ensemble in one consultation
A gown maker should inventory the gown, sash and headwear together. A missing component can disrupt the university-specific appearance.
Record the home university
For an external full professor, both the Delft ceremony and the university represented by the ensemble worn are relevant.
Address the beadle separately
Using the mace, walking in procession and visibility require a different fit and wear assessment from a full professor’s gown.
Do not infer a colour
Without current technical guidance, Togamaker.com does not present a specific colour, fabric or pattern as a fixed Delft design.

The public doctoral regulations describe the ensemble, not all construction and measurement details.
TU Delft has loan gowns in the Togakamer; public size and stock details have not been published and must be confirmed in advance.
